Police on the lookout for possibly paranoid man

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)_Grand Junction Police sent out a reverse 911 call Monday morning in a half mile radius of St. Mary's Hospital.

A sergeant tells 11News, it appears a patient at the hospital had a mental break down and was displaying paranoid thoughts and left the hospital. The man was spotted later in a backyard in the 300 Block of Bellaire and was asking to use people's phones.

Police searched the area looking for the man who is described as 31-years-old, 6'3" and 165lbs. He was not wearing a shirt and has numerous tattoos on his upper body and arms.

Police say charges could be pending but most of all they just want to contact the man and do a welfare check on him. They do not believe
he is a danger to anyone. He is believed to be from the Brighton area.

If you see him call 911 and do not approach him. Police do want to caution that this description could match a number of people.

I also got one of the reverse 911 calls. The guy had not made to Colorado West yet. They first take them to St. Mary's to make sure they're medically fit, then released to Colorado West. And yes, Colorado West needs a major overhaul.

Half mile? I live 4 miles from the area and received the call that disturbed my slumber after working last night! Not a threat? Is that way they told me to lock my windows and doors? Seriously, I'm sure the answer to this person's mental health issues was prescribing enough drugs to turn him into a modern day zombie, rather than to get him the mental health care he needs. CWMH is a total joke, why is that place still in business? Probably gets funding from the VA....
