Pomona placed on lockdown due to Police activity in the area, no threat to students

Pamona Elementary was put on lockdown at 8:45 on Friday morning due to law enforcement activity in the area.

There was police response to reports of a potential threat in the area, but the reports were unsubstantiated and police are just doing checks for safety.

At 9:05, the school transitioned to "Shelter In Place." Office staff and teachers will not answer school or personal phones during a lockdown because phone lines must remain open for safety and incident- related emergencies.

The school district assures parents there is no threat, and asks parents to not go to the school.
