CLIFTON, Colo. (KKCO) -- A domestic disturbance turns violent in Clifton.

Around 12:20 p.m. Monday, Mesa County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street in Clifton after a man told 911 dispatchers he was stabbed, according to Patrol Deputy Garrett Henderson.

The man met deputies outside and showed them he had a minor cut to his arm. He said a woman in the house stabbed him.

Henderson said when deputies asked to get inside, the woman came to the door with a baseball bat. KKCO 11 News crews on the scene saw one deputy draw his gun while others persuaded her to drop the bat and come out. A short time later, she did.

The deputies immediately detained her and saw she had cuts to her arm as well, although they are not sure if the wounds were self-inflicted or caused by someone else.

EMTs at the incident helped treat both the man's and woman's wounds. The woman was then arrested and taken to the Mesa County Jail.
