GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. With the new year approaching it's time to start wrapping up your finances and organizing your possible deductions before tax season starts.

"Give your accountant a call," says certified public accountant Gina Tallman. "See what they're going to be asking for so you can keep an eye out for that, it should be coming in the mail in the next month or so."
With the new year also comes the opportunity to save yourself time and pressure come next year,by keeping yourself informed throughout 2014.
Financial adviser Erin Blue says even if you don't pay attention to anything else in the finance world - keep an eye on housing and unemployment rates. They'll give you a good idea of how the entire sector is doing.
