Prosecutors file charges in Ridgeway case

GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) -- A teenager who prosecutors say confessed to killing a 10-year-old Westminster girl and attacking a runner has been charged as an adult in both cases.

Prosecutors filed 17 counts against Austin Sigg on Tuesday, including murder, robbery and sexual assault on a child.

Sigg didn't speak during the hearing and didn't look at his relatives in the courtroom in Golden.

Eight relatives of Jessica Ridgeway also watched proceedings, including her mother. Each wore purple, Jessica's favorite color.

Defense attorneys anticipate asking that the case be sent back to juvenile court.
