Ray Scott proposes a bill that could bring jobs

Republican House Representative Ray Scott Proposed a Bill that could bring more energy jobs to Colorado.

Scott said the "Energy, Jobs, and Higher Education Act" would offer incentive for oil drilling companies to bring their business to Colorado.

Under the act, companies would have a two year severance tax holiday.

"Right now it appears that the support is good, I think what is happening is that people are understanding that we are one of 12 energy producing states in the united states and this is a business we ha ve to do things to attract business."

Scott said if the Bill is adopted, the severance tax from the wells, that would normally be paid to the state will go toward the Colorado Opportunity fund.

Scott said each rig would provide around 200 new jobs.
