GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Members of the Grand Junction Area Realtor Association raised nearly $11,000 during their 72-hour turkey blitz.
They started the fundraiser after learning the Salvation Army was still in need of 1,400 turkeys for Christmas meals.
A check for $10,911 dollars was presented to the Salvation Army on Wednesday by the GJARA.
"We agreed to meet all of our realtor members' donations from our board," says Linda Romer Todd, charman for the GJARA. "And then we have been very fortunate that we've had public members that have come in and contributed also."
Members of the association say they're thrilled with the outcome, and were pleased to be able to raise the funds in such a short amount of time to help out local families in need this holiday season.
