Rimrock Elementary awarded $1,000 for huge donation

FRUITA, Colo. After hearing the pleas of the Salvation Army, District 51 schools stepped up to donate for families in need.

All the schools were in a competition to see who could donate the most food and Rimrock Elementary came out on top bringing in more than 5,000 pounds, which was 2,000 pounds more than the second place winner.

Rimrock was awarded a $1,000 check today by Burton Orthodontics for their huge donations.

School principal, Teri Kramer, said they saw more support from the parents, teachers and students this year than in the past.
