GRAND JUNCTION,Colo. The Roice-Hurst Humane Society is celebrating their second annual “Roice-Hurst Roundup” event to raise money to support the shelter.

The event started at 6:00pm tonight at the double tree hotel where president of the board Mark Davis from the Roice-Hurst Society said they are hoping to break last year's record of $20,000 through the silent and live auction.

"We get a lot of local support from businesses to help us sponsor the event so everything that we bring into tonight is a 100% profit for the shelter."

Tonight’s event featured cocktails, a sit down dinner, and a silent and live auction.

All of the money raised at the roundup will go to help cover the nearly $1,500 a day it takes to run the facility.
