GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Trooper Reid with the Colorado State Patrol says a man from Nevada died after he was ejected from a rolled-over black SUV on I-70 Sunday night.

Fruita Police and Lower Valley Fire responded along with the Colorado State Patrol which is investigating.

A Care Flight helicopter landed at the scene, but Trooper Reid says it is unclear if the driver died at the scene or at the hospital. The driver's name has not been released. He was the only person in the SUV.
According to the Colorado State Patrol a SUV rollover in the eastbound lanes on I-70 near mile marker six ejected the driver from the vehicle.

As of 9:45 p.m. crews were assessing whether or not to bring in the Care Flight helicopter in order to transport the person to a hospital quickly.

According to police scanner traffic the helicopter did end up landing and one lane of traffic was temporarily shut down.

Information on the victim's health has not been released.
