Routine traffic stop leads to arrest, 20 pounds of pot found

Cindy Lemus

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) - The Western Colorado Drug Task Force says a routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a California woman after 20 pounds of pot was found in her car.

Cindy Lemus is being held at the Mesa County Jail on a $7,500 bond. Authorities say she was arrested on I-70 near mile marker 13 just after midnight Tuesday. Officials pulled her over for a left lane violation when she allegedly wouldn't let a semi truck pass her.

According to an arrest affidavit, the officer who pulled her over noticed a "strong odor of raw marijuana." The affidavit states the officer found two large bales of suspected marijuana totaling around 20 pounds.

You see this is why so many of us people were in favor for banning medical marijuana dispenceries for. But now that Mesa County is trying to ban these dispenceries for medical marijuana .Now it is going to be harder than heck to stop out of state people for bringing it into our communities. Mesa County Gj Fruita and Palisade want these type of dispenceries to remain illegal .Well now it is time to think about making it illegal for people to grow their own marijuana and stopping them from being able to sell it to those who need this drug too.Why ban dispenceries and let people to continue to grow their own and for those who do grow their own marijuana and put a stop to them being able to grow and sell their own to other people. We need to ban all of the entire operations altogether is what I think .Stopping It Period.
