GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - With all of the toy and coat drives going on during Christmas, a few local residents found the very basics were being overlooked.

Don and Gretchen Haynes started "SPUNK" just eight years ago, an effort aimed at collecting new socks, pajamas and underwear for local kids in need.

Today, like Santa, they delivered the donations to kids at Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, Mesa County Foster Care, Hilltop's Latimer House, the REACH program and Hope of the Grand Valley.

They collect donations year round. To donate contact D&G AutoCare at (970) 243-3404.
