GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Patients and staff get quite a scare this morning when an SUV nearly runs through the VA Medical Center's front doors.
The accident is still under investigation, but VA spokesperson Paul Sweeney says around 9:30 this morning, a Jeep Grand Cherokee ran into a hydrant and pulled it out of the ground.
The Jeep then smashed into a safety barrier in front of the medical center and stopped about eight-feet short of the front door.
No one was hit by the car, and Sweeney believes it was just an accident.
Operations are back to normal at the VA, and if you have an appointment today, you should keep it.
