GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. If you head to the Mesa Mall this month you may see something unusual sitting in Clock Court. The yellow school bus is back and is parked where no one can miss it.

It's all part of the Stuff The Bus program which helps students in need fill their backpacks with school supplies before the first day. The need is big as nearly 45% of District 51 students get free and reduced lunches.

"That's almost half of our students who need help paying for food and if they need help paying for food they need help with school supplies," Christy McGee, District 51.

Donations have been low for the last couple of years and with more than 20,000 students in D51 schools now the goal is to get as many bags in the bus as possible.

To donate just head to the Mesa Mall with anything from crayons to college lined notebooks and drop them off in the bus.
