Missing men in Knowles Canyon found

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) – The two men that were missing in Knowles Canyon have been located by search and rescue members.

Crew members were in a helicopter and transported the men to a remote location. Both men were just cold and hungry, and no injuries have been reported.

This situation is still under investigation. We will let you know more details when we get them.

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) – Deputies and Mesa County Search and Rescue crews responded to Knowles Canyon Trailhead after getting a report about two adult men missing. The call came around 8:45 a.m. on Monday.

Both men are in their mid-40s and had a dog with them. Their vehicle was located at the Knowles Canyon Trailhead, approximately 15 miles past Glade Park. They logged their hike on the sign-in trailhead sheet and dated their trek for Apr. 12.

One of the men is from the Denver area, and his family reported him not having returned home when anticipated. Multiple SARC teams and resources are being used in the canyon to find the missing men and their dog.

Deputies are asking if anyone has seen two men hiking Knowles Canyon Trailhead over the past weekend. If you think you have seen them, please call non-emergency dispatch at 970-242-6707.

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Mesa County Search and Rescue crews are looking for at least one person in the Knowles Canyon area.

Mesa County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Heather Benjamin says a Denver man may have been hiking or camping in the area and has gone missing. Another person may be with him.

Knowles Canyon is about 15 miles west of Glade Park, and roughly four inches of snow has gathered on the ground there.
