A sexually violent predator (SVP) is making his home here in Grand Junction.
Chad Wesley Heiden,42, registered his move with the Grand Junction Police Department, notifying them that he is living in Community Corrections at 650 South Avenue.
Heiden was convicted of felony third degree sex assault and second degree assault in 2000. He also served time for criminal trespass, no insurance, menacing and third degree assault.
State law requires the police department to let the public know anytime an SVP moves to the area or changes addresses. The GJPD will be mailing bulletins to buildings around Community Corrections.
You can also see an informational presentation about SVPs on Mesa County Cable Channel 12 today at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
