DENVER (AP) -- The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash involving an Adams County sheriff's deputy.
Patrol Sgt. Mike Baker says deputy Benjamin Mainero rear-ended an SUV as the driver slowed down to turn into a private driveway Saturday afternoon. After hitting the SUV, the patrol car veered off the side of the road and crashed into a utility pole.
Mainero suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was treated at a Denver hospital. The 54-year-old driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was not hospitalized.
Baker says charges against the deputy are pending.
