GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) --Wednesday night parents and skiers of Powderhorn ski racing club and Colorado Mesa ski club got together to discus ways to keep skiers out off the surgery table and on the mountain.

Arthroscopic surgeon Mark Luker says the most common ski injury is the ACL.
However there are ways riders can a void this type of injury.
Dr. Luker says " the simple things are to keep your hands forward and to keep your hips knees and ankles more less over one another inline with appropriate balance. if you keep your knees together, feet together, and your hips over the top of those you almost can't tare your ACL".
Dr. Luker also told 11 News that there are almost seventy thousand ACL injures a year in America from skiing.
