GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The mall may be packed with shoppers for Black Friday, but Saturday local small businesses will have their turn to take on the crowds.

Small Business Saturday is a way to promote pumping money into the local venues around the valley.

One local Main Street shop owner says the holiday spending couldn't come at a better time to boost business.

"People like us, owners, are working as hard and as much as they can. This quarter, this last season of the year is extremely important," said Jackie Laumann, Co-Owner of Culinary Corner.

Culinary Corner will be offering special samples and coffee tomorrow in honor of the event. And Downtown Grand Junction is offering free parking until 2014.
