Armed robbery at Smoker Friendly

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - An unknown suspect struck a store clern then took off with cash.

It happened at the Orchard Mesa Smoker Friendly around 7:15 Saturday evening.

Authorities responded to the scene at 2692 US Highway 50 on reports of an armed robbery. They say a suspect hit the clerk and took off with money, but they're not sure how much he was able to get away with.

Police brought in its K-9 unites in attempts to follow the suspect's trail, but the scent was lost. The suspect is being described as a white male around six feet tall wearing a coat and hoodie.

The store was open at th e time of the robbery, but no one was injured in the incident.

The case remains under investigation, and no details are being released at this time.
