DELTA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) – The Delta County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man who died in a snowmobile accident on the Grand Mesa Monday.
Mike Fonderoli, 31, from Cherry, Illinois, was fatally injured while riding with a large group of snowmobilers north of Paonia. He was air-lifted to a Delta hospital, where staff tried to revive him without success.
Delta County Sheriff Fred McKee says investigators are trying to piece together the circumstances that led to his death.
Mckee tells KKCO 11 News that the area is only reachable by snowmobile or helicopter this time of year.
