GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Grand Valley is welcoming the people who serve our country for a holiday break surrounded by friends and family back home.
Cody Rollo has not been to his hometown of Montrose since he joined the army in July.
He finished boot camp in November and he is now working in Fort Irwin, Calif.
Rollo's mother and friends made sure his homecoming was a memorable one at Grand Junction Regional airport Sunday with signs and cheers as he walked out of the terminal.
"The men and the women that serve, they need to be recognized and just know that there is support and we love them all and we thank them for serving our country," Rollo's mom Jeanine Tilson said.
Rollo will be home in Montrose for two weeks before returning to California.
