Central High student arrested for rape, murder threats

CLIFTON, Colo. (KKCO) – A Central High School student is taken into custody after his classmates accuse him of threatening to rape and murder them.

The suspect—whose name has not been released because he is a minor—made the threats to girls in his sixth hour Literacy class on Nov. 7, according to a Mesa County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit.

The first witness told investigators that the suspect said he was going to rape her and “impale her and put her on his house to scare the kids,” the affidavit says. He then said he wanted to burn kids in acid on Halloween and stab them while their parents watched, the girl claims.

As the class talked about the future, a second student heard the suspect say “when he grows up he is going to rape little girls in his basement and be a murderer as a side job,” according to the affidavit.

Another girl said the class has been studying the Holocaust, and the suspect constantly said, “Long live Hitler” and that the human race is not intelligent.

All four girls told deputies that the suspect personally threatened each of them, the affidavit says, and they plan to press charges.

According to the students, the teacher either was not in the room when the threats were made or did not hear them.

When confronted by investigators, the suspect claimed he told the girls he would “grape them,” not “rape them.” The affidavit says after investigators started quoting some of the girls’ statements, the suspect yelled he wanted an attorney and was evoking his Fifth Amendment rights.

His mother told deputies that she had seen some early warning signs but had no idea her son was so far gone, according to the arrest affidavit.

The suspect is charged with menacing, a misdemeanor. The entire redacted arrest affidavit can be downloaded by clicking the link at the top of this story.
