Colorado student involved in stand off shooting set to go to trial

BOULDER, Colo. A University of Colorado student who was shot by Boulder police during a standoff is set to go to trial in February.

The Daily Camera reports 23 year old Coleman Stewart pleaded not guilty Friday to four felony counts of menacing and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer and theft.

Stewart was shot multiple times after he allegedly pointed a pellet gun at officers through the door of his home May 30. He spent 12 days in a hospital.

Authorities say the standoff happened after Stewart refused to pay for a cab. The driver called police, and Stewart ran into his apartment, where officers say he pointed a gun at them, prompting them to open fire.
