POWDERHORN SKI RESORT, Colo. (KKCO) As cooler temperatures start to sneak into the Valley, many local families are already making plans for hitting the slopes.
This year, Powderhorn Mountain Resort is offering a new type of ski-school for kids.
Team Yeti was created with the intention of eliminating the stereotype of ski-school being boring, but this program isn't for beginners.
"This program is definitely based around kids that are seeking to learn more," says Powderhorn Mountain Resort sales and marketing manager, Gabrielle Michna. "They learn more than just their average getting their turns in and/or prepping for just their typical races."
The Yeti Program will teach team-members ski and snowboard cross, how to prep and maintain their equipment, and even a little bit of back-country awareness.
The program is open to kids ages 9 to 15.
