Jeans for Teens

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Spring cleaning is just around the corner, and if you could use extra cash for new clothes, there's a clothing drive you'll want to know more about.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is partnering with clothing store, Aeropostale, for Teens for Jeans.

They're gathering gently used jeans until February 14th to donate to local homeless teens.

There are donation boxes at the Sheriff's Office and the store inside Mesa Mall.

The goal is to get teens to help out their peers.

"This is our 6th year doing it. We just collect jeans, they can be any brand, any size, any style and we donate them to homeless teenagers within the county," said Ashley Powell, manager at Aeropostale.

Last year the program raised more than 1,000 pairs, and so far this year they have more than 200.

All donors are rewarded with an in-store discount at Aeropostale for their donations.
