Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - The British Consul General for Colorado has spent this last week here on the Western Slope.

Consul General Beverly Simpson has been meeting with officials and business representatives.

She got a chance to visit Colorado Mesa University and says she is impressed with CMU's energy program, saying that the U.K. wants to add variety to their energy production.

"Including non-conventional forms of energy production such as hydraulic fracturing, I know that the university does a lot of interesting research in that area, and so that's something that we might want to explore and see where we can develop links,” says Beverly Simpson.

She will wrap up her trip to the Western Slope on Saturday after spending Thursday with Club 20 for its annual leadership conference.
