Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – Friday was a big day for the Dow Jones. For the first time since 2007 it closed above 14,000 points. Financial investor, Gary Nagy, with Edward Jones, says there are a couple of things that drive the market.
1) Numbers, which are doing well right now
However, he goes on to say that this is a positive thing for the market and it has been a long process.
"Hopefully, with proper diversification, it's showing a positive return for investors. It's not going to just continue to go up. We can expect volatility as we go along, as we have in the past, but for investors that are out there with existing portfolios it should make their next statement a little nicer to look at,” says Nagy.
Nagy says one of the most important things you can do is to remain patient, as the market does not go straight up, or straight down. Right now we are seeing positive trending, which happens over a longer period of time.
