The Grand Junction Lions Club fulfills its community pledges

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Three Grand Valley organizations were awarded their community pledges from the grand junciton lion club.

Representatives from the Grand Valley Zoological Quest, the Museum of Western Colorado, and KAFM Radio all gathered today at the two rivers convention to accept their monetary awards.

The organizations were chosen from over 40 applicants to the Community Betterment Committee Program.

"Knowing what the economic times have been like, being able to award monies to well deserved non profits in Mesa County is obviously extremely important right now," says Brad McCloud of the Grand Junction Lions Club.

Proceeds from the Grand Junction Lions Club annual carnival and parade are used to create these community pledges to benefit non-profits, charities, and schools.

This year, the club has selected ten different organizations that will receive grants in order to better serve the Western Slope community.
