Olathe, Colo. (KKCO) --- The past few months have given lovers of the Olathe Sweet Corn Festival some ups and downs, but it will finally be here next Saturday.
Tuxedo Corn, shippers of the "Olathe Sweet Sweet Corn," have shipped over 4-million ears of corn over the past four days, and they say that there's a great reason why it's in such high demand.
"There's no question it's the sweetest, corny tasting corn in the country and it's tender," says owner of Tuxedo Corn, John Harold. "Our warm days and cool nights bring up the sugar in the corn and so we have a superior product."
Tuxedo Corn officials say that they wont begin picking corn for the festival until the day of the event to ensure that is is as fresh as possible.
The festival begins at 9 a.m. and continues through 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for kids 12 years old and under.
