The Palette moves to Main Street

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. A new business is joining the Main Street community offering a more creative way to spend a night out.

"This presents more opportunity for people to see us and get our name out there," said Claire Meil, owner of The Palette. "We're just happy to be part of the downtown community. This is just a good addition to the area. It's something nice and different and unique."

The Palette has been on Colorado Ave. for the past two and a half years, but it opened up a new set of doors Tuesday night for its bigger facility on Main Street.

The Palette pairs acrylic painting classes with Colorado wine and drinks for a one-of-a-kind date or girls' night.

"You get to go out with your friends and have a drink, but you get to take something home at the end of the night," Meil said. "Hopefully it's something you're really proud of. We help you out the whole way."

Classes are offered at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Walk ins are accepted.

The cost of $35 covers the painting materials and the first drink.

A schedule of the paintings that will be taught at each night's classes can be found here:
