Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – The Salvation Army opened its doors on Main Street in Grand Junction back in 1908. This year they are celebrating 105 years of service in the Grand Valley.

The Salvation Army is very involved in the community with everything from the popular red kettles seen during the Christmas season to food drives and their adult rehabilitation program. This program is now in its 20th year here in the valley "it's more than just the stores, it's helping families, it's helping individuals that are having a tough time in their lives, and reaching out to them, and the love of Jesus as God showed his love towards us we pass that love on to others," says Captain Dan Wilson.

The Salvation Army is starting training on its emergency disaster services. The training starts at 8am on April 6th.
