DENVER (AP) -- Denver police say a thief stole a car from a driveway with an 18-month-old girl inside, but she was found unharmed nearby.

KCNC-TV reports the girl was in the car when her father went into the house to get his jacket Friday morning. When he returned, the car was gone.

The thief apparently took her out of the car.

No arrests had been made and the car was still missing Friday afternoon.

Police say the car is a black 2005 Toyota Matrix with Colorado license plate 265VOJ.

On March 12, an SUV was stolen from Longmont with a 4-year-old boy inside. The boy was found unharmed when the thief abandoned the vehicle. A state trooper was injured when he was struck by another vehicle allegedly stolen by the thief.
