Tractor Supply hits Grand Junction and had a busy first day. Excited residents piled in to see what the new shop had in store for day to day farm maintenance and the winter months ahead.

The store opened its doors at 8 a.m. Saturday morning and store manager Nate Gagne says it stayed busy all day. For those who head over Sunday, there's a raffle to win a chain saw, log splitter or store gift cards.

The store also teamed up with the local Future Farmers of America chapter to offer a free barbeque, and those from the Colorado Mesa University rodeo team stopped by to promote an upcoming event.

Gagne says those at Tractor Supply are excited to be here and want to help the community in any way they can.

"[It has been] incredibly busy, nothing but good comments from the community. [We’re] very excited to be here. We had no idea it was going to be this busy. I think it’s a tribute to [how much] this community needs this. I keep hearing it over and over," Gagne said.

He also says despite the name, the store has pretty much everything except tractors. It does have plenty of supplies to help residents get ready for the winter.

The store is located at 24 ½ Road off Highway 6 and 50. Gagne says the high traffic he saw on Saturday’s grand opening is a testament to how much the community needed a store like this one.
