GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - More than a third of Americans will be traveling for Thanksgiving this week.
In a Trip Advisor survey, findings showed despite high airfares, nearly 40 percent of Thanksgiving travelers will fly, and 58 percent will drive.
The busiest day for travel is Thanksgiving Day, with 31 percent of those polled heading out of town on Thursday. The next busiest day was Wednesday. Half of those travelers will head home on Sunday, Nov. 25 or later.
In terms of distance traveled, 41 percent of those polled will travel more than 500 miles for Thanksgiving this year, and chances are if you're going, you'll be with 70 percent of those trying to drive at odd hours to avoid traffic.
