GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- They say it's a once in a lifetime birthday, but for one local woman, she just celebrated her second 12-12-12 birthday.

Margaret "Mugs" Upp was born on December 12, 1912, and then Wednesday, celebrating her 100th birthday opening cards and eating cake surrounded by family and friends.

Upp's family says she spent her life as an interior designer, and loves the outdoors, and she certainly hasn't lost her sense of humor either.

"So far her favorite things seem to be eating cake, opening cards and bestowing good wishes on everyone else who hasn't yet made it to 100," Upp’s daughter, Melissa Macdonald, said.

Upp's daughter came in from Vail for the celebration, and her nephew flew in from Washington.
