CARBON COUNTY, Utah (KKCO) - Two Grand Junction men are missing after disappearing from a man camp in Carbon County, Utah, and their families are frantically searching for them.

According to Christine Axe, her husband Brian and his friend Mark Widegren were working on a natural gas line near Price, Utah. They've been staying at a man camp near Nine Mile Canyon while working for a pipeline and well location company called WC Striegel, based in Rangely.

Christine says Brian called her from the camp Saturday night and said he and Mark would be heading out for some fun, and that he would call her Sunday, a day later.

She says she never heard from him after that.

According to Carbon County Sheriff James Cordova, a search and rescue team was in the area looking for some lost hunters on Monday, and they didn't spot anything out of the ordinary.

He says a deputy also searched the area Wednesday, but saw no sign of the two men. Sheriff Cordova says he does not suspect foul play.

Axe says she's frustrated because she's called the Carbon County Sheriff's Office and talked to several different deputies, and says she has gotten several different answers about what's being done to find them.

Axe and Widegren are childhood friends. Christine says they both graduated from Palisade High School, and are both 28 years old. She says it's very uncharactaristic for Brian not to call her as often as possible. Cell service is spotty in that mountainous region of Utah.

They could be driving Axe's vehicle, which is a gold 2000 Jeep Cherokee.

Thursday morning, both Christine and Widegren's family plan to drive to Carbon County to search for them.

Christine says an employee of WC Striegel called her to find out why Brian didn't report to work, but there hasn't been an organized search for him or Widegren.
