USA Pro Challenge will shut down Colo. 82

The bike race begins Monday at 1:05 p.m.


ASPEN, Colo. (AP) -- The USA Pro Challenge is getting started with a loop from Aspen to Snowmass Village.

The bicycling race featuring Tour de France champion Chris Froome begins at 1:05 p.m. Monday. It will shut down Colorado Highway 82 between the towns from noon until around 4 p.m.

Alternate routes to avoid the race are Highway 82 over Independence Pass, U.S. Highway 24 and Interstate 70.

On Tuesday, the racers will head over Independence Pass to Twin Lakes, Buena Vista, Fairplay and Breckenridge.

The race ends Sunday in Denver.
