GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The Mesa County Department Health and Human Services is temporarily locked down because of an upset parent.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Department says someone activated a panic alarm at 510 29 1/2 Road Friday at 10:41 a.m.

Two sheriff's deputies, who already in the building, were asked by DHS staff to go to a possible verbal disturbance, and the building was locked down.

Other deputies and police officers were dispatched to the scene, but the locked doors prevented them from immediately getting in.

In the end, Grand Junction Police say an upset parent was escorted from the building, but no arrests were made or are anticipated. The lockdown was released directly after.
