GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau held a meeting with the board of directors to talk about how realistic it is to bring the huge USA Pro Cycling Challenge here.
The community would have to raise between 300 to 350 thousand dollars to support the event..
"It would give us great international P.R. there's no doubt about that, but in these economic times we all have to make choices so we also need to discuss those choices with our board," Barbara Bowman, VCB.
VCB members have not reached out to the Pro Cycling organization and there is no timing set in place yet.
Although it would bring a lot of attention to the Valley, VCB members say the event would not have a huge economic impact on the area.
