Water managers say too much conservation harmful

LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) -- Water managers are warning that too much conservation could kill trees.

According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan, water experts said at a meeting in Loveland that there's no way water conservation alone can solve the region's water supply challenges. They say a delicate balance is needed to cope with Colorado's extreme drought.

Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District General Manager Eric Wilkinson said Wednesday if everyone stopped watering their lawns, they could kill their lawns and also jeopardize the tree cover.

Can you believe it. If you don't water plants in a desert they die.
