GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - With the holiday season in full swing, it's the time of year when friends, family and coworkers all spend more time together celebrating.

But sometimes these parties can bring a little too much fun, especially in the professional world.

The Small Business Legal Center is advising their members to keep their celebrations safer by focusing on intoxication levels and harassment.

Georgia Lujan owns and operates a local catering business and a venue that she rents out for special events.

Lujan does her best to keep everyone safe; especially when it comes to drinking and driving.

"Generally when we have an event that has liquor we always have security," Lujan said.

In the midst of the holidays, her business is busier than ever with company parties that are doing their part to keep their employees safe.

"We have lots of parties that say no, we're not doing liquor," Lujan said.

Partygoers are doing their part, as well, to make sure they aren't drinking and driving.

"Lots of times they have cabs waiting for them at a certain time when they know they're going to leave and the cabs will be out there waiting for them," Lujan said.
