Westcap offers free HIV testing on Valentines

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- On a day dedicated to love and togetherness, Westcap on Main Street offered free HIV testing in an effort to promote awareness and sexual safety.

Thursday, Westcap provided testing to couples and anyone interested in gaining more knowledge about their sexual health.

Rabeeha Gaffar with Westcap said there are no symptoms for the disease, so getting tested is the only way to know.

One in five people infected with HIV is unaware, so Westcap staff urges the community to get tested and prevent to spread of the disease.

There are two walk-in days every month: the second Friday of every month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or the fourth Monday from 12 to 4 p.m.

A test costs $25 dollars, but those unable to pay will not be turned away.
