Western slope students compete in healthcare competition

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Students from all over District 51, Western Colorado Community College and Colorado Mesa University participated in the Colorado HOSA State Leadership Conference.

Students placed in 23 of the 25 health care based competitions and attended education symposiums and leadership seminars.

"We're are really proud of these kids theyre a really great group of motivated kids and they take it to the next level any chance they get," says HOSA local advisor, Theresa Bloom.

HOSA encourages students to gain hands on knowledge in the medical field and gives them the opportunity to meet students from other communities with similar career interests.

The HOSA program is available to any student at the high school and university level.
