If you’re hiking in the book cliffs you can count yourself lucky if you see some of the wild mustangs who live there, but right now there’s a larger herd than the land can support and BLM officials are organizing a round-up.

However the BLM hasn’t had to do a gathering since 2007, as their efforts to control the herd’s population have been effective. But every few years some are rounded up and adopted out.

The Gathering process will officially start September 3rd, looking to gather anywhere from 15-25 horses, the process may take days.

Adoptions are tentatively scheduled for September 28th.
