Wildfire at Fravert Reservoir in Rifle fully contained

RIFLE, Colo. UPDATE: A wildfire in Rifle that prompted evacuations early Sunday afternoon is now fully contained according to the Bureau of Land Management.

Officials at Colorado River Fire Rescue confirmed the fire reached three acres at Fravert Reservoir.

45 fire fighters were working on the scene. Officials say winds and the heat could have spread the blaze, but they were able to get it under control. At this time there is no other fire activity in the area.

We're getting reports of a wildfire in Rifle that's prompting evacuations.

Officials at Colorado River Fire Rescue have confirmed the fire is three to four acres at Fravert Reservoir. People at the recreation area have been evacuated, however the fire isn't threatening homes or businesses at this time.

BLM fire crews are helping to extinguish the flames and two drops have been made by a single engine air tanker.

The blaze is only 5% contained, but officials say winds are cooperating and the smoke has died down.
