Winter may be on the way!

GRAND JUNCTION, CO (NWS)__ Grand Junction will be mostly cloudy Wednesday, with a high near 57. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming north in the morning. Wednesday night will bring a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 36. Calm wind becoming south southeast around 5 mph after midnight.

Montrose will be partly sunny Wednesday, with a high near 59. Northwest wind around 5mph. Wednesday night will bring a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

A fast moving Pacific storm will move across eastern Utah and Western Colorado Wednesday and early Thursday. This system will bring areas of rain and snow, mainly along and north of Interstate 70. Expect snowfall accumulations from 3 to 6 inches over the mountains near Steamboat Springs and across the flat tops. Lighter snow amounts will over the mountains south of Interstate 70.

Moist westerly flow will continue to bring light snowfall to the northern mountains through Saturday. A strong Pacific storm will sweep through the area Saturday night and Sunday. This storm will bring much cooler weather to all of eastern Utah and Western Colorado, along with a continued chance for rain and snow. Drier conditions are expected on Monday, with another storm passing through on Tuesday bringing more rain and snow.
