GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- A man is behind bars today, suspected of stabbing his wife in the head.
Jesus Villarruel, 40, has been charged with first degree assault in an incident that happened at a home near 17th Street and Glenwood Avenue just after 7 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Kate Porras with the Grand Junction Police Department.
When police arrived on scene, they found a victim bleeding heavily from her head, saying she had been stabbed.
Porras says the officers tracked Villarruel--who was wearing blooding clothing-- to the area near 16th Street and North Avenue and drew their guns to take him into custody.
They discovered that the Villarruel was the victim's husband, and a witness confirmed that he was involved in the assault.
