GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- A new program coming to the Grand Valley will teach District 51 students how to make a job- not just take a job.
YEA! which stands for Young Entrepreneurs Academy will be piloted by District 51 this fall.
The program is aimed at helping young people nurture their entrepreneurial spirit.
And while there are a lot of leadership programs out there for students, this one helps them actually start a business.
"A major difference with YEA! has to do with the fact that you actually have an output at the end of the class,” said Diane Schwenke President and CEO of the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce.
Twenty-four students will be selected for the program. You can get an application from the Chamber of Commerce web site.
Organizers say teaching the students will be a community effort and need about 60 volunteers.
