GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) Pomona Elementary School administrative assistant Roseanna Lewis came up with the idea of having the students practice their creative writing by writing letters to John Elway, asking the Broncos legend to visit them. The students wrote Elway about how big of a Broncos fan Roseanna is. John couldn't make it, but sent a letter and box full of signed memorabilia. Former Broncos standout Vance Johnson, one of the "three amigos," did make a surprise appearance Wednesday, and gave Roseanna a Broncos shirt and poster signed by the three amigos. Roseanna says it's a great day to be a Broncos fan.

"I never give up on them; if it's good or bad, I'm always faithful, and John Elway was definitely my idol; he hangs a full poster-size on the office door for inspiration," said Lewis. Roseanna said Pomona is a wonderful place to work, and also expressed her gratitude for everyone who organized Wednesday's surprise. Lewis thought she was just going to talk to the students about their letters.

The even bigger surprise, a Pomona Elementary School parent presented Roseanna with two tickets to the October 28th game in Denver versus the New Orleans Saints.

The school is even giving her a day off to enjoy her special trip to the front range.
